Woke up and gave my husband a hug and kiss as it was our 13th wedding anniversary, not a bad place to spend it. Packed up our bags and headed to the Orly Airport to catch our flight to Toulouse.

Air France from Paris to Toulouse. Crazy kids!

It was a quick flight south, picked up our ‘new’ car a 2015 Renault Megane standard diesel. A fun little zippy car. It takes diesel fuel but the diesel here is called gazole, a little to close to gas for me and I was nervous when Justin was filling it, but he was sure and of course he was right. Then a 2 hour drive to Servian. We were using our cars gps so at the last round about it sent us past the exit that said Servian, of course you think the car knows better so we went with it, but it turned out to be a trail through the vineyards. Thank god no other car was coming our way as I was thinking there is absolutely no room for a car to pass us. We popped out on a round about close to the centre where our rental house is and parked the car in one of very few spots around. As I look at my phones map it looks like we have a bit more to go, so we start the car up again and head in the direction that we were pointed in….ugh….it turned out we were in the right spot and quickly ended up within the teeny tiny streets of the centre of Servian. Im not talking one small street it was many, my heart was pounding. Justin, with a touch of a button on the car turned the side mirrors into the car, yes, it was THAT narrow, then miraculously drove between stone buildings. I said I give up because the gps on my phone couldn’t keep up with the turns as quick as we were doing them and I kept sending us up even more narrow roads one after the other. At one point we got to a spot and an old lady shook a broom at us instructing us not to go her way, well the other way was up yet another narrow road that turned into a dead end where there were about 10 cars parked and Justin says “I don’t know how these people get out of here”, not what I want to hear. Anyway, he turns us around and gets us out and we finally make it back to the last parking spot that we were originally in 10 minutes before the scenic tour of the smallest streets in the world!

We settled in, unpacked our bags. Ordered pizza from the place next door, but we can’t call it pizza because Max doesn’t like pizza so we call it cheese bread. Quick dinner with yet more wine and we get the kids to bed and it the hay ourselves. Looking forward to waking up in our new village in the morning.

Made it to Servian.
